Sidmouth

Poet Laureate John Betjeman described Sidmouth as ‘A town caught still in a timeless charm’. Who would disagree with the beautiful gardens and clean beaches nestled beneath the majestic red cliffs. Friendly shops and boutiques are perfect for finding an unusual gift in this lovely seaside town on the Devonshire coast.

Itinerary

Day 1

Our journey to the Devonshire coast will include refreshment stops, arriving in Sidmouth in the late afternoon. There will be time to stretch your legs along the esplanade before dinner.

Included Excursion - Exmouth & Exeter (Easter)

During the morning enjoy the views of the River Exe estuary from Exmouth. Spend free time along the esplanade or visit the town centre. We head to Exeter in the afternoon, dropping you off by the cathedral, with plenty of time to explore the city.

Included Excursion - Weymouth (Easter)

Today we spend our time in Weymouth, reported to be one of the ‘sunniest coastlines in the UK’. You have the option of lazing on the beach, shop at the new town centre complex or visit one of the museums. Hopefully the sun will be with us!

Included Excursion - Torquay & The English Riviera (Festive Break)

Torquay has been a favourite destination since Victorian times. There will be time to visit the marina, the local shopping centre or just bide your time in the cafes around the harbour.

Included Excursion - Scenic Drive & Afternoon Tea (Festive Break)

We head off for a scenic drive around the local countryside, stopping off for a cream tea (included in price).

Optional Excursion: Seaton Tramway & the Donkey Sanctuary (extra £10 per person)

Enjoy the views as we travel alongside the River Axe on the narrow gauge Seaton Tramway, passing through two nature reserves. Before heading back to the hotel we will stop off at the ever popular Donkey Sanctuary just outside of Sidmouth.

Day 5 or 6

After a relaxing break, excellent food and drink and visits to lovely places we make our way home. No waiting around for feeder coaches, you will be home late afternoon.

The family owned and run Royal York & Faulkner Hotel has an outstanding position on Sidmouth’s Esplanade and a stones throw from the beach.
