Cornwall is always a delight to visit and on this tour we will show you some of the best there is to see, including a number of traditional villages. Explore some of Cornwall’s most picturesque fishing villages and secluded coves, once regarded as perfect smuggling country.
We travel to Lostwithiel, our base in Cornwall for the 4 nights with an interesting stop enroute to break the journey.
Discover Charlestown, which in some Poldark scenes played the role of the principal town. Wander along the side of the original Grade II listed harbour complete with Tall Ships, and you can almost imagine that you’ve been cast as an extra in the TV series.
Explore the picturesque fishing village of Mevagissey, where you can still find working fishing boats and nets being mended.
Looe, a delightful fishing town, is actually made up of East and West Looe, which face each other across the river. Relax and watch the world go by, explore its many gift shops or enjoy a local boat trip. A maze of lanes and alleyways lead down to the traditional fishing village and unspoilt harbour of Polperro, a true slice of Cornish beauty, where you can visit art and craft galleries and its very own Heritage Museum of Smuggling.
Visit the attractive riverside town of Fowey, once home to the novelist Daphne du Maurier. In the afternoon we visit Lanhyrock House and Gardens.
Sadly we travel home today, making a stop enroute to arrive home in the late afternoon.
The 3* Best Western Fowey Valley is ideally positioned in Lostwithiel. Highly regarded for its food and service, the bright and airy rooms and the Conservatory Restaurant will ensure your stay is an enjoyable one. There is even an outdoor swimming pool for you to enjoy.
