So there we have it. Our first ever holiday was to the seaside town of Babbacombe in Devon, a place we will be visiting again though the year.
With our eager holidaymakers, who paid just £199 each for the long weekend, we left from our departure points in good time to our ‘mystery destination’. With a stop off enroute to Babbacombe we made a break in out journey at Burnham on Sea in Somerset, set on Bridgwater Bay.
Our hotel for the weekend was the excellent De La Mer. Singer, Janet Courtenay provided the entertainment on one of the nights and even got some of the guests involved!
The excursion on Saturday was a tour around Dartmoor including the House of Marbles, the Clapper Bridge at Post Bridge, Princetown and a drive around the Hoe in Plymouth.
Sunday included a visit to Sidmouth and the Connaught Gardens, while others went into Torquay to do some shopping!
A leisurely route home meant a stopover at the Burnham Garden Centre.
We go back to Babbacombe in May, and once again in November for a Turkey and Tinsel weekend.
